Using the newly launched Instagram Collab feature, you can easily co-author your posts or roles with just a few taps. Once the co-author approves their tag on your post, share likes, comments, and even the audience/followers on your profiles for the collaborating post/reel. As a result, you can increase the reach of your content to a huge number of viewers. The main highlights of this feature are as follows:

  • After approval, all employee names will appear in the header.
  • The contributed post remains live on all co-author’s profile grids.
  • You can share views, likes, and comments for the collaboration post.
  • You can add up to 20 co-authors to an Instagram post.
  • This is limited to Instagram posts and roles only.
  • You can co-author public or even private Instagram accounts, but it must be approved first.

Follow these simple steps to use Instagram’s role collaboration feature.

  • Open Instagram and tap the + icon in the top right corner of the screen.
  • Select Reels from the bottom navigation bar and tap the + icon to add a reel.
  • You can also directly record a video here to use as an Instagram reel.
  • Tap the Add button to let Instagram process the video.
  • Now press the preview button to go to the edit page and tap Next.
  • Tap the Tag people option.
  • To invite a collaborator, tap Invite collaborator.
  • Find and add the username of the person you want to add as a collaborator for the Instagram role.
  • You can add up to 20 employees on one role.
  • Tap the checkmark in the top right corner of the app window to save changes.
  • Add other required details and tap the Share button to publish it on Instagram.
  • Your employee will immediately receive a request for cooperation.
  • Once the collaborator approves your request, the Instagram role will show the names of both co-authors in the post.

You can also use Instagram’s collaboration feature while creating new posts to add co-authors to them. Follow these simple steps to add a co-author to your Instagram post just like roles.

  • Open the Instagram app on your device.
  • Tap the + icon in the top right corner of the screen.
  • At the bottom, select Post and choose the photo/video you want to use in your Instagram post.
  • Tap the forward icon in the top right corner of the app screen.
  • On this page you can add filters or edit your image. When you’re done, tap the forward arrow again.
  • Now tap on the Tag People option.
  • To invite collaborators, tap Invite collaborators and find their Instagram usernames to add to the post as co-authors.
  • You can add up to 20 collaborators for one Instagram post.
  • Finish your post by adding more details and tap the blue check mark in the top right corner of the app to post it.
  • Your contributors will receive instant request notifications for the post.
  • Once your collaborator approves your request, the post will go live on both profile grids with their respective names in the post title.
