OnePlus may have lost its power this year compared to other Android phone manufacturers, namely Google with its impressive Pixel 6-but the company has a new smartphone up its sleeve.

OnePlus co-founder and CEO Pete Lau recently teased the OnePlus 10 series on the Chinese social network Weibo. Lau posted the name “OnePlus 10 Pro” as a hashtag and then “see you in January”. As you’d expect, fans are thrilled.

What’s interesting is that Lau only mentioned the Pro model of the next OnePlus. A well-known tipster tweeted rumors from the rumor mill that there will probably only be one product in the OnePlus 10 series. Typically, OnePlus launches two versions at once – a regular and a Pro – followed by a third “T” model that is mostly aimed at power users. However, OnePlus cancelled the 9T this year.

It’s also worth noting that this is a bit early for OnePlus to introduce a new flagship device. Previously, the brand launched its new products right after Samsung finished its Galaxy showcase, in the March/April time frame.

The OnePlus 10 Pro is said to be the first OnePlus release under the Oppo brand umbrella. OnePlus has been affiliated with parent company Oppo since its inception, but this year the company announced that it is working on “deeper integration” with Oppo.

While it’s good news for OnePlus’ company, it’s a little troubling for Android fans, especially around China’s largest smartphone makers. imminent changes to the OnePlus Oxygen OS interface as it works to consolidate it with Oppo’s ColorOS. I was also wondering if we could see the end of OnePlus’ game as the “enthusiast” Android device, a position previously occupied by Google’s Nexus.

The final question is whether the OnePlus 10 Pro can offer an edge over Google’s refined Pixel 6 Pro, especially when it comes to camera performance. The rumored specs give us reason to be excited.

We have seen unofficial views of the next OnePlus with a stove-top camera array with three lenses and a flash, along with the return of the Hasselblad partnership that the company introduced with its OnePlus 9. The screen of the OnePlus 10 Pro is pinned to 6.7 inches with a QHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It could support 80W fast charging, and according to its CEO, it will have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.

The OnePlus 10 Pro may debut overseas first and then go on sale in the US in early spring.
