Humble Bundle’s simplified game subscription includes a members-only library

Humble Bundle hasn’t exactly won fans over with donation limits and potentially confusing subscription levels, but it’s hoping to make up for it. Beginning February 1, the company’s monthly Humble Choice service will consolidate around a single $12 monthly subscription that gives you permanent copies of every game offered in any given month. Humble noted that the number of games may vary, but you can still skip a month if you don’t like the selection and want to stay a member.

You can also access more games as long as you are subscribed. A new Humble Games Collection gives you access to a curated, growing catalog of titles that you can only access as a Choice member. The first mix is ‚Äč‚Äčlimited to just five games (including the relatively well-known Void Bastards) available through the Humble app, but the company is clearly hoping the promise of a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass-like library will deliver. that you keep paying even when the monthly Choice selections are not to your liking.

Choice has other custom benefits. You’ll get a whopping 20 percent discount on qualifying games you purchase from the Humble Store, but you’ll need to remain a subscriber for at least one year. You get that discount right away if you subscribe before February. Five percent of your membership fee is donated to charities.

This won’t get everyone excited. Classic subscribers who switch will lose their 20 percent discount if they skip a month, for example. However, this can still be less confusing and can be attractive if you want access to a large number of indie games, regardless of what the monthly catalog has to offer.
