Italian horror master Mario Bava directed this 1963 anthology consisting of three stories introduced by Frankenstein’s monster himself, Boris Karloff, who also stars in one of the segments. The various horrors on display include a killer who loves threatening phone calls, a thirsty vampire (or “wurdulak,” as it’s called in the film), and a corpse who isn’t very good at being robbed; all of the stories push the boundaries in terms of raciness and violence, all taking advantage of the beautiful cinematography that was Bava’s trademark.
